Sometimes two buildings need to share a network and a cable between them is not practical. There may be a road in the way, the distance is too long, or digging would cost too much and take too long.

A wireless point-to-point link solves this. A small radio unit on each building talks directly to the other, and the two sites behave as if they were on the same network. GTECH surveys, installs and looks after these links across the UAE.

How a wireless link works

Two units, each mounted high on a wall or pole, face each other. They need a clear line between them, so we check the path for buildings, trees and other obstacles before choosing the equipment.

The link carries everything a normal cable would: office computers, phones, cameras and access control. Many links connect a remote building, a gate house, a yard or a camp to the main office.

Distance, weather and the number of devices on the link decide which equipment is right. We confirm the speed we expect after a site check, so you are not guessing.

A link can act as a backup too. If the main cable or line fails, a wireless link keeps the sites connected.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far can a wireless link reach?

Links can cover anything from a few hundred metres to several kilometres, based on the equipment and a clear path. We confirm the distance for your case after the survey.

Does heat or dust affect the link?

Equipment is built for outdoor use. Heavy dust or humidity can change signal quality a little, and we plan some margin for it.

Is it as reliable as a cable?

A well-planned link is reliable for most office and camera uses. For critical sites, we can add a second link or a backup route.

Can I connect cameras at a remote pole?

Yes. This is a common use. We can add solar supply for poles that have no electricity.
